What is a 'Yurt'?

Unlike traditional yurts that are made of wooden collapsible framework covered in felt or skins-

Our yurts are extremely sturdy; metal framed, insulated and covered in durable canvas. They are very spacious too (5m wide!)

Reception opening hours

Sunday to Thursday - 9am - 6pm

Friday & Saturday - 8am - 10pm

All hours are seasonal, reception may be open longer during busy periods and open late / close early during quiet periods.

If this is likely to affect your check in we will let you know.

What are the check in/ out times?

Check in is strictly between 3pm and reception closing hours 

We would appreciate you letting us know your approximate arrival time in advanced.

Please aim to arrive no later than 10pm as courtesy to other guests.

Check out is before 10am, we do not offer late check out.

What are your cancellation policies?

Bookings made via our website:

Cancel within 14 days of arrival or 'no show' - 100% charge

Cancel 15 - 21 days of arrival - 50% charge

Cancel 22 - 42 days of arrival - 25% charge

Cancellations over 6 weeks will result in a £20 admin fee

Air B&B bookings - please visit their website for cancellation terms.

We will be unable to make any date changes to your booking within 14 days of arrival under any circumstances. This will be treated as a cancellation and 100% loss.

What facilities do you have on site?

Shared facilities block exclusively for yurt guests - accessed by code lock entry pad

Is there food available on site?

We do not offer any breakfast or food on site

We try to encourage all of our guests to support local and eat out in one of many restaurants and pubs in the village!

Do we have to clean the yurt when we leave?

We do ask that all of our guests leave the yurt in the same condition as they found it upon arrival.

If it is left in an unreasonable state, a minimum £25 cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit.

I have booked the wrong dates - what do I do?

Please make sure the dates you book are the correct ones before confirming your booking.

Any changes before 14 days of arrival will result in a £20 admin fee taken off your security deposit. 

We cannot change the dates of your booking within 14 days of arrival

Are the yurts suitable for families?

Yes - We have family friendly yurts - they can accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids maximum.

Please note - we ask that children are supervised AT ALL TIMES.

The yurts are unsuitable for babies and infants due to several different reasons. Contact to discuss.

We are a group of four or more adults - can you accommodate us?

Yes - but you will need to book multiple yurts.

We will accommodate 3 adults maximum in one yurt.

We have 4 yurts in total, we will arrange an exclusive hire discount if booking all 4 - contact us to arrange this.

BOOKINGS OF THREE ADULTS

If you book for three adults - two will share the double bed and one will use the day bed. 

The pull out bed is not recommended for adult use therefore will not be made up or will be removed prior to your arrival.

Do you cater for special occasions?

If you are celebrating during your stay, we can arrange some bubbly and decor ready for your arrival.

Every occasion is different so we don't want to offer this as a standard add on at check out.

From a simple birthday banner to a proposal with balloons, bunting and bubbly.

Contact us for pricing and to arrange your special day, we will try our best to cater for any occasion!

Can I bring my dog?

We only have one dog friendly yurt - Wyddfa

NO DOGS allowed in any of the following yurts at any time - Elidir, Eilio, Glyder.

We only allow well behaved, house trained dogs.

No Puppies unless fully trained.

Any damages or fouling will result in loss of your £100 security deposit. If further damage is caused you will be billed accordingly.

Only one dog allowed.

Dogs are to be kept on a lead and with you at all times.

No dogs left alone in crates in the yurts at any time.

Guests bringing their dog will need to pay a cleaning fee of £20 upon arrival.

By bringing your dog you agree to all of the above.

Can we bring visitors to the site?

Simply answered. No, sorry!

We do ask that you respect the privacy of other guests in the yurts who want a quiet escape to the country, having crowds of people

around the yurts is something we will not allow.

We will operate this as one rule for all, so only paying customers are allowed in the fenced yurt area and inside the yurts. 

You will loose your security deposit if additional guests are found to be in the yurt without payment / permission.

We have the right to inspect your yurt at any time during your stay if we suspect this.

Do I Have to bring bed linen?

No! The beds will be made up ready for your arrival.

Is there a toilet/ shower in the yurt?

No, not in the yurt but we have a shared toilet and shower block for our yurt customers. 

The toilet block is situated a short walk away from the yurts. The main door is locked by a code lock to keep them private.

Do we have to bring towels and toiletries?

Yes, please bring your own towels and toiletries...

(toilet paper, hand wash and paper hand towels are provided in the toilet block)

Can I wash my clothes on site?

There is no washing machine available for guests on site. 

There is a laundrette in the village.

Do you have a minimum stay?

Two nights minimum stay.

If you are looking for an overnight stay - check air b&b as sometimes we can accommodate this.

Can we have a campfire or BBQ?

You are more than welcome to have a small campfire or BBQ as long as you place it a reasonable distance away

from the yurt (not on the decking) and make sure the cinders do not land on the yurt, if they do, you will be asked to extinguish 

the fire immediately and/or charged for damage caused.

Can we cook in the yurt?

No, please do not cook any food in the yurt.

If you need to use a camp stove for cooking please do so outside or in the drying room near reception.

We do provide a kettle with tea and coffee with UHT milk. Bring your own fresh milk if preferred!

Is there running water in the yurt?

No, but there is a tap on the side of the main campsite toilet block for drinking water (signposted).

Is there electricity in the yurt?

Yes! There's also a extension block with sockets and USB ports for charging your devices.

Is there heating in the yurt?

Yes! There is an electric fire in all of our yurts. 

The walls and roof are insulated so it gets surprisingly warm!

Is there Wi-Fi/ Mobile phone signal?

There is no Wi-Fi in the yurts, so you can relax and take in the beautiful views of Snowdonia!

(3G and 4G are available on most networks though!)

Can our friends pitch their tent near our yurt?

Unfortunately this is not something we allow, although they can camp on the campsite or rent the yurt next to you!

How far away are you from Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon?

We are right at the foot of Snowdon. You can access the Llanberis path and the Snowdon Ranger path direct from the yurts!

Where is the nearest train station?

Bangor train station.

 

Is the site well lit up at night? 

The is no lighting in the area around the yurts.

The main yard is lit up but we try to keep light pollution to a minimum.

Please bring your own torch.

Can we come and go as we please?

Yes! We don't lock any gates at night. We do ask that if you are returning really late that you respect our neighbours

and the surrounding campsite by being as quiet as possible. Please aim not to be travelling in and out between the hours of 11pm and 7am

ACCESSIBILITY

All yurts are accessed via a gravelled path. There are 3 steps minimum up to the decking, then a 2" lip in to the yurt itself.

Eilio and Elidir yurts are accessed via the gardens original large uneven stone steps, these do not need to be used, it's just a shorter way to the toilets and showers.
